I look into your eyes and I see refuge there, a place to feel secure and when life is to hard to bare.

I look at your hands, they have done so much, to save a life in this barren land.

You wear your heart on your sleeve, its been through a lot, it's been ages since you held the beauty in thought.

You worked so hard to be where you are today, it's just a memory walking down the lane, and if I could stop and reminisce

about the good ole days, of what it was like to be free. It's a good old american boy, growing up and fighting for our freedom,

stops to realize that his never ending life, goes on, goes on.

Then one day he comes home, to a shattered life, everyone he loved is gone, sitting on a wooden box, tears fall from his eyes.

This is the day that the Lord has made, everything around you belongs to him and if you should feel alone, stop!

Call upon your God and ask him what can I do, my life is shattered and torn in two, where am I to go from here, Lord?

It is a battle we all must face and even though it is hard, ask and you shall recieve God's given grace.

I'm helping a friend write a few songs for an album that will be either out this year or the next, they are just ruff copies for now and this was one I wrote after watching CNN report what's happening in iraq and then it made me think of Dustdevil to which I thought of him and what it is he's going through. . .dear friend.

I like that Wendy. Makes me think of my oldest brother and want he went through in Iraq. He came home from Iraq and 2 weeks later our father was killed in a wreck. He's still tore up over it. But very nice lyrics there
