Just curious as to what the guy:gal ratio is in your service, or your area. Or your squad for that matter. Crew too.

off the top of my head there are about 3 EMT guys in our squad including me, and more gals than i can even think of. It doesnt bother me, I can work well with em all no matter who it is. Thats all thats important, right?

In my service, there are at least twice as many guys than girls. But whatever, right? I just look at it this way, this just means I get to spend my nights with a bunch of guys  and another thing, all those guys around really helps when it comes to lifting obese patients :D

Here we have 2 gals and the rest are guys. The two gals work together and they do a good job of it too. I dont care if its a guy or gal as long as pt care isnt compromised.

We're close to half and half, but there may be one or two more guys. I count (in my pea brain) about 8 gals and maybe 9-10 guys. On the whole I think the gals are better at their skills, but I only say that because we have one guy that nobody wants to work with. Kind of unprofessional, y'know.

We also have some members that are drivers only, and they are ALL guys. I find that curious, but I don't know why. Come to think of it, I don't believe I have ever seen a female driving. I wonder why that is. I know there is no policy in that regard, I guess it's because they are always busy in the back. Or perhaps it's because they prefer to work more with people than machines?

(For the record, I am male. )

Here at UMass we have 29 women and 30 men. A lot of them choose not to work, but of us that do, the ratio is still about equal. I enjoy working with all of them, though I have some struggles with one or two. I guess that's to be expected; as long as it doesn't interfere with patient care--which it doesn't.
