I know of some depts, that allow their MD to have L and S in thier car, but cant afford to buy them a marked car.

Why would a medical director need lights and sirens on his personal vehicle?

I don't understand. Maybe someone out there can tell me why.

god forbid the medical director might actually want to support service delivery or support his /her crews during / in the immediate aftermath of a really nasty call ...

also what about the medical incident officer at MCIs - a logical role for the service MD epsecially if s/he isn't one of the senior docs at a likely recieving ED

Having LED lights in personal vehicle, would be awesome, ut the temptation would be there to use them when, we tired of driving in the traffic.

This should be the litmus test, to see if someone has the maturity to drive with L/S.
