Jump Kits

Hey I remember this as a thread on I think it was the old board.. but I am wondering... what do yall keep in your jump kits... item wise... i am getting ready to do a standby at an equestirian event and i am trying to restock my kit.. and brain farting... anyone out there got Ideas?

I do not respond to calls when I am off duty, and therefore, I have no need for a jump kit.

The jump kit in our rigs includes the following item(s):

- Adult (Lrg. and Regular), Child, and Infant BP cuffs.

- Three Adult NRB's and Three Adult Nasal Cannula's

- Three tubes of oral glucose

- Bite Sticks

- OPA's and NPA's

- Sharp Shuttles

- Ammonia Nitrate Inhalants (never know when you're going to have that cyanide poisoning)

- Sting Swabs

- Adult BVM

- Two C-Collars

- Sterile Saline

- Triage Tags

- Bandages/Dressings

We keep an extra bag, in case we have to split up.

The ambulance is also fully stocked.

The agency I work for gives BLS first responders jump kits, and in them are:

-bandages/dressings

-splints

-OPAs and NPAs

-3 adult NRB and nasal cannula

-O2 tank (sm)

-2 c-collars

-sharps shuttles

-adult and child BP cuffs

-stethoscope

-triage tags

-2 tubes oral glucose

-adult bvm

I have my own for my personal vehicle; it's got all the same stuff minus the O2 tank, OPAs and NPAs, and sharps shuttles.

a pair of leather gloves

two hemastats

trash bag

ponytail holders ( theyre for my benifit) lol

pad of paper and serval pens

a list of emergency numbers ( pioson coltrol and the police and stuff like that)

glow sticks

a few packages of drinking water that came with teh first aid kit

I think thats about it. I know its a lot but i live in a very rural area and you never know what your going to come across.

i work part time for a county ambulance service here in Kansas and i also volunteer for the Girard fire department. i keep a jump kit that includes a adult and pediatric c- collar, BVM, different sizes of OPA's and NPA's, different size bandages and dressings, 1" and 2" tape, INSTA-GLUCOSE, activated charcoal, B/P cuff and stethoscope, pen light, latex XL gloves, sterile water, trauma shears, alcohol preps, smelling salts, pen and paper. i also keep my cell phone on me at all times.
