Pain analgesia, and RICH query

Hello .

I'm an Australian paramedic student and I am looking for some information for an assignment if anyone can help. Firstly, what pain analgesia is available in the USA for EMT's and paramedics, and what level do you have to be to administer?

Also does anyone have any information on 'Rapid Induced Cerebral Hypothermia (RICH) after resuscitation for cardiac arrest?

As for the analgesia question, use the search function there was a recent thread about this subject. It was titled do you feel you can adequately control pain.
