One of the interesting things about being Canadian is that it's possible to be a centrist and still have a party to vote for. Some issues I lean right, others I lean left. I dislike the polarization that happens with a two party system. I certainly don't agree with all right wing tenants nor do I believe in all left wing tenants.

Amen to that!

Most people that are in a group start as an employee, but after 1-2 years (depending on the group), you become a voting member and have a stake in all financial decisions. Most are very democratic groups that rely on the partners to make the decisions as a group. We do not run an office per se, but we do run our own practice. There are still fee-for-service groups out there where you eat what you kill.

Yeah, being in MI is a lot like being in hell (I assume). I miss NY. There is nothing better than a North Shore or Hampton girl (sure they're high maintenance, but they're worth it). I'm not used to a church on every corner, drive through chapels and a conservative press. If this area is conservative lite, I'd rather not venture into the real deal. Guess I should know better than to assume there might be hope for a place where are man can be dragged to his death behind a pickup truck because of his skin color and no one seems to care.

Oh please. Black men in areas like that get dragged to death due to racism, stupidity, and ignorance on part of the criminals that confirm to me why there should be the death penalty, not because of conservatism or a lack of progressive ideas. Living and growing up in the fiscal heart of the Republican party [hey, we were even mentioned in the show "West Wing", the closest drive thru chapel that I know of is in Vegas.

I've traveled from liberal to conservative to libertarian to now exploring market-anarchism (= the non-violent type, also known as anarcho-capitalism), which seems to have the best of all worlds. Google "Ron Paul" to see how I'll vote, for the first time in many years.

If you have the patience to get through the opening, unfortunately long, set of jokes, this series of 4 videos may hold some surprises for you; click on the Link to see parts 2, 3, and 4:
