Welcome to City, Ghost.

There are a number of threads on herre (use search function) that discuss coming to Canada as a foreign EMS practitioner. I can guarantee that iut will not be easy, and will probably require starting over again, especiall yto come to Alberta. Our system is pretty fragmented, because each province sets its own standards. It is even difficult to go from one provonce to the next the way things are right now.

One place to start looking would be at the Alberta College of Paramedics site at www.collegeofparamedics.org and see what they have to say. This applies only to my province - I'm sure someone else will fill you in on the rest.

Good luck!

As MedicNorth said, in Canada, EMS varies a lot by province. With the way the job market is now, Ontario would not be a good place to look but from what I have heard out East is better.

Hey there guys,

I'm an EMT in the US and I've just enlisted as a Hospital Corpsmen for our Navy. However, once i'm out, I'm considering moving up to canada and working in your guys medical field either as a RN or a Medic and I was wondering how the pay is up there. Not that thats the only thing controlling my thoughts but its something to consider you know.

I've got citizenship though my mom so getting up there wouldn't be a problem.

Thanks!

The wage in Toronto for a Primary Care Paramedic is around $30 an hour, but work is difficult to find.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
