my experience thus far with similar devices is that it "seems" to reduce injury through MOI's that would be seen as less serious than others. The tradoff is that when they do get injured, they get injured big time.

i dont think it makes patient handling that m,uch more difficult as you are alreadu contending with helmets, kidney belts, back, chest and shoulder armour to begin with, its just one more thing to contend with. I fond it adds time to assessment and immobilisation, not necessarily difficult, just fiddly to deal with
