My agency has 2 shift schedules 12 hr and 24 hr shifts. The 24 hr shifts are split into A, B, and C shifts, they start at 0700 and end at 0700 the next day these are the primary shifts. We're paid based on a 56 hour work week. 24 on 48 off. Maximum amount of hours is 48 hrs on (24 reg pay/ 24 OT) in a rolling 72. Any hours over 40 is OT. We get 2 120 hr paychecks and one 96 hour paycheck at base not including OT. 12 hr shifts are 0700-1900, 0930-2130, 1030-2230, 1900-0700, 0600-1800. 2 on / 3 off //// 3 on / 2 off rotation. On average most trucks run anywhere from 6 to 14 calls a shift in a 24 hour period. There are 3 island trucks which average one or two calls per shift and those are split between the sectors as "R&R" stations. Manadatory is paid double time OT and if we have worked 48 in a row, we cannot be mandatoried to staff units.

I work what is called in Missouri the "Kelley Shift" that is 24 on, 24 off, 24 on, 24 off, 24 on, and 4 days off. I think someone said "its like a mini vacation every week" unless you are like me and work an other EMS job on your days off. I got to work this morning and won't go home again until Tuesday night, if I don't pick up an extra 12 hrs then I won't be home until Thursday!!!

We work 24 hour shifts, 3 days a week.

We're allowed to work up to 48 hours straight, and most crews are scheduled for two days in a row (for example - work Sunday, Monday and Wednesday).

The service I work FT for works 48 on 4 days off. We have no limit on how many extra shifts you pull. I have worked as many as 4 days on in a row. Some days it's fine because the call volume is down, but some days you get slammed and it's exhausting. I have to pick up extra shifts because our overtime is paid at 1/2 time + 2.00 per hr. We have a new director and I'm hoping some of this will change soon. Sometimes I do feel overworked, and definitely underpaid.
