There are different regulations in each and every state. You will need to pick a state, and contact that state's office of EMS to ask them personally about reciprocity. But, chances are, if your education followed US DOT guidelines, then you won't have much problem.

As for the second half of your question, I didn't understand it. Are you asking if the paramedic field is crowded, making jobs hard to find?

You think the emt test is hard try the paramedic

Personally, I found the paramedic exam to be ridiculously easy. I went through a good college-based program, I studied, and most of all... I wanted to be a paramedic.

I had a crappy EMT instructor. It was a fire-based EMT class, and most of my classmates were there because they were required to be at least EMTs to ride the fire engine. There was a high fail rate despite the spoon-fed state test. National registry was not required at the level, and in fact, discouraged. I passed the state, easily. I went out of state to take the national registry, and passed it the first time.

It's no secret that a lot of the EMT and paramedic factories out there are simply horrible, but in the end, the responsibility to learn and understand falls solely on the individual.

You might want to practice what you preach. 5 spelling errors, and numerous punctuation errors in a 44 word post.

When I had a student not pass ( I don't like using the F word very often) I'd tell them not to fret. So don't fret. But I'd take it personally and tend to fret at times. I don't think I've ever had anyone not pass the second time. Usually when they retest they know everything twice as much, I'd make sure of it.
