tiedyedbeth Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Hooray! I'm finally getting started! I'll begin an EMT-B class come next Monday morning! I'm so excited!! I know it's going to be intense but I'm looking forward to the challenge! Originally I had planned to just get my Basic as part of being enrolled in the associate's EMS program at the local college, but life has changed so I'm going to get the Basic through continuing education and work for now, and start the degree for medic next fall once my youngest is in school.
Breck Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Your going to have a blast! Stay focused, pay attention, study, and you will do great! Good Luck!!
skibum Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Just remember your ABCs and you'll do fine! Good luck
lonewolf99 Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 hey, congrats on starting your class. i know it was hard for me to go back through, but once you get through the basic, it will be all gravy. myh wife and i are both nremt's and now my wife is going through college to be a nurse. good luck and be safe!
Icecuban Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I'm a student for EMT-B right now all I have to say is use EVERYTHING they give you. It will help alot
riskynremtp Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Good luck from South Carolina on your new career. Stay focused and most of all, stay professional. Has NC adopted the NREMT-P program yet. The last I heard, basics tested registry, but medics did not. Just wondering.
tiedyedbeth Posted September 18, 2007 Author Posted September 18, 2007 Thanks! I'm doing well with the class so far, and I'm having fun! We are working on the Trauma module this week. No time to chat though, I need to run and get lunch but I wanted to say hello again (no internet at home right now so I'm at the library).
stretchergopher Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Best of luck to you in class! You will have a lot of fun in class and I really hope you do well so you can come back here and post a thread about finally getting your license take care and I wish you all the best!
lonewolf99 Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Hey congratulations! you will have a long and rewarding career and experience as long as what you put in you will receive. Schooling is not easy, especially with little ones, but the return is well worth the effort. My wife and I have a 6 month old, and my wife started nursing school this last semester. We are both dual state and national; registered EMT'S, and I also work for an oil company. Once my wife graduates in about 18 months, then I will attend nursing school. We both love EMS, and would rather work in a field that we enjoy. Best of luck and study hard!!!!
