Hey guys, sorry to waste your time but I am having a very difficult time finding a scope of practice or even on-line protocols for an alberta EMT-A. If someone can help me out with a link that would be great!

This is what an EMT/PCP needs to know to work in Alberta. I'm presuming you have the CMA standards cause you are training to be an ICP. (ICP-Not sure what that is, but I could guess) All schools are teaching to the CMA level here in Alberta and should be going through the process if they haven' already gotten their acceditation

As for protocols you would have to go to the individual services cause each service has a medical director that approves them

You won't find any online Alberta Provincial protocols. They were pulled off the Alberta Health website as they are being changed to include the new expanded scope of practitioners.

The best page to look at is the link in the previous post to the Alberta Occupational competency Profile - EMT.

as it has been said the ACP web page will have have most of what you are looking for since they need to post it and as far as protocols go your best bet is going to whatever area you are going to work at. It's service dependant.
