Kinda down played how out of proportion things really are, but better than most write ups. EMS needs to develope into health care professionals and maybe we would get a little recognition including pay.

I like it. Even though I don't have a tanned six pack like all the firefighters, I like to think my translucent keg is sexy too.

He seems to be saying what many have been saying in here. Fire like to justify their existence but it is difficult when the raw data doesnt justify them.

the IAFF has done an absolutely amazing job making people believe that fire departments and firefighters are needed on every other corner.

That's what we really need, an organization that is essentially a PR machine for us. But unfortunately we're so fragmented that it won't happen for a long time, if ever.
