Mary Wohlford, 80, of Decorah, Iowa, had the words “DO NOT RESUSCITATE” tattooed on her chest to make her medical wishes clear, but at least one doctor thinks that isn’t enough to stop medical personnel. Dr. Mark Purtle of the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines told the Des Moines Register that state law defines when caregivers are permitted to end life-sustaining measures, and a tattoo isn’t enough. Wohlford noted that she also has a living will hanging on the side of her refrigerator.

She might be able to make it work, if she can get her doctor's signature and a state seal tattooed on there as well (or whatever is required in her state).

It might not have any legal standing, but seeing the tattoo would certainly prompt a call to my medical command to verify what are otherwise clearly stated wishes.

And she should make one of these to wear over it, just in case the lights go out.

Help me here, what is the use of a braille T-shirt when the only people who could read it cannot see it!!!

That's kind of like a musical gift card for the deaf.

lol thats some funny stuff actually thought of doing that myself, but yeah per state and county rules you need to have a doctors sig under the order to complete the dnr and i agree i would at least make base contact to wish her orders
