we dont transport them unless they are calm enough to do so

it is not a case of wrong or ritght it depends on the situation

i have had many that should never have been transported by us ...

most of ours are just ones that havent had their meds and they know it we dont get a whole lot of the really wild ones where im from

had more of those on my clinicals which were in another town

Why do you hate periods and what type of psych patients are the ones that deserve to go by law enforcement [did they break a law?] instead of by ambulance?

This said, psych patients who are not on a hold/conservatorship with no other condition that necessitates transport should go by cab.

You are so wrong, sometimes they are GOD, his son Jesus, or the arch enemy Satan. I have had all 3 on my ambulance more than once. I hate when Jesus calls me God. That just freaks me out.

These patients need to be transported by ambulance but at the same time EMT safety is most important that's why our service will only transport these patients if an officer rides with us in the back of the rig.

Just trying to clarify a bit. Is that any psych patient, any patient that is currently on a hold, or only aggressive psych patients. Not all psych patients are on a hold and not all psych patients on a hold are a danger [grave disability holds, for example]

I feel that they are still a patient and should be transported by ambulance. As for as for the safety of the crew I think you should be allowed to restrain a patient IF needed to provide for your safety as well as the patients.

Well... since all the Haldol in my station has expired... I'd prefer not to transport violent psyche patients at present...

hello i have been there and done that usaly they are drunk and malling me im not sure how i feel about pd taking them we only have one on duty so it is hard for them to do that good luck with you ?
